My Monday

I still have a slight headache when I woke up this morning. Whenever I do not have enough sleep and when the weather is hot and humid, I tend to have headache but most of the time it will go away after a good night sleep. No medications required for my case unless the pain is really unbearable, then panadol would suffice. My family is very prone of getting headache except for my dad.

Just when I was about to leave for office this morning hubby told me that I better not drive my car today due to a substantial leakage of brake oil. He found out about the leakage when he checked the car yesterday but obviously he had forgotten to tell me. Luckily, he remembered this morning or else I would have driven the car out. Hopefully he remembers to call the mechanic to pick up my car for repair. I think I better send a text message to remind him after this. My sil gave me a lift to the office and offered to pick me up later.

Despite having sufficient sleep last night I am still feeling very lethargic, sleepy and keep yawning every few minutes now. Oh, I wonder how am I going to survive the rest of the day in the office with this sluggish condition. And just now, I nearly lost my mobile phone. It was my carelessness and absentmindedness. After I’d made a phone call I went to the washroom straightaway bringing along my mobile phone. I put my mobile on top of the toilet roll casing while I relieve myself. I don’t know what I was thinking or dreaming at that point in time and I actually left the washroom without taking my mobile! I’d brought in my mobile a few times before but today was the very first time I’d overlook it. I came to realize it when I was back to my desk and when I took out my handbag to take out a folic acid tablet. Without delay I chucked my handbag aside and rushed to the washroom as fast as I could. In my heart I was praying hard that my mobile is still there and that nobody has taken it. My heart was pumping so fast as I was approaching the toilet cubicle where I’d left my mobile but once I saw it was still there, my heart beat was back to normal again...oh, what a relief it was!

Lesson learnt today: Never ever bring my mobile phone into the office washroom again.

Shocking News

My colleague and I walked into the office after we had our breakfast this morning. My boss was already in his room. A few minutes later he came out from his room and told both of us that another colleague had called this morning to say her handbag was snatched this morning. The snatch thief ran off with her handbag together with her identity card, ATM card, mobile phone, cash and other items in her bag. She is on emergency leave today to sort out some matters following the dreadful incident. We were upset that such a thing could happen to her.

I managed to find out more about her bad experience when she called just now. It was a quick conversation and according to her the robber who came in a motorbike robbed her right in front of her house this morning when she was leaving for office. The robber whom she said looked like a Malay slapped her face and snatched her handbag. Her brother dashed out immediately and chased after him but was unsuccessful. Thank god she wasn’t hurt during that time.

Snatch thieves going around in broad daylight stealing and running off with women’s handbags are really rampant nowadays. Whilst we try our best to be careful and alert to our surroundings these snatch thieves just caught us unaware sometimes. The only thing I could say is that the world we live in today is no longer safe for our children and us.

Lunch At Hilton Kuala Lumpur

This afternoon my bosses brought the office staff including myself to Hilton Hotel for lunch. We had dim sum and seafood noodles at the chinese restaurant called 'Chynna'. I was hoping and looking forward to go to other restaurants in the hotel but they brought us to the chinese restaurant again.

Both Hilton and Le Meridien Hotels are within walking distance from my office but my bosses prefer to go to Hilton instead. I noticed they fancy dim sum a lot as they like to order dim sum whenever we're out for office lunch. Haizzz..so boring lah. I'm not really a dim sum fan but I love to eat 'loh mai kai' (steamed glutinous rice). I will not miss out this dish when I go for dim sum. I have been planning to try my hands on making 'loh mai kai' and even got my mum to buy 1 dozen of 'loh mai kai' bowls for me. And that seems so looooong ago. Looks like I really need to search for recipes to do it. Hopefully, I get to taste my own home-made 'loh mai kai' very soon.

Office lunch at Hilton Hotel

Yesterday my bosses, colleagues and I went for office lunch at the chinese restaurant of Hilton Hotel called 'Chynna'. We ordered the dim sum set lunch comprising of (1) steamed fishball, 'har kow' and 'siew mai', (2) bird's nest soup (i wonder how much ajinomoto they put as it was really delicious), (3) 3 types of fried dishes, (4) scallop congee and (5) mango pudding with ice-cream for desserts. Very nice! But I must say that it was a bit too pricey at RM88++ per person just for dim sum.

We enjoyed our food very much and hopefully our bosses will bring us there more often in future.
