Her Favorite Toys

These are Sharlene’s favorite toys and she calls them rabbit, kitty, small bear bear and panda. Those were the few that followed her to my mum’s house last month. I took this photo when she was sleeping on my sis's bed. Her toys were sitting on top of her head. She has a lot more soft toys but she only picks her favorite ones to sleep with her every night. She will not hug them to sleep but LOVE to place them neatly by her side, sometimes talk to them and kiss them before she dozed off. *rolled eyes*. After that, my job is to quietly remove them from her bed and put them back on the shelf. We have to wipe and wash her toys quite often too.

She’s treating them like her ‘friends’, very protective over them and gets really angry if anyone throws them on the floor or sits on them. At one time, she even tried to feed them with food and drinks, put them into her school bag but I took them out and told her that she can’t bring her toys to school. Since then, I’ve not seen her doing it anymore. She understands that her ‘friends’ have to stay home whenever she goes out with us. However, if we are going back to my mum’s place for a couple of days, I allow some of her toys to be packed and brought there. Otherwise, she will definitely miss them dearly!!

What about your kids? Do they have their favorite toys too?

My eldest daughter who is 9 still carries around her teddy which a colleague gave her when she was born. Her teddy has been everywhere with her (except to school) and it's really worn out now.

my kids do not have a favourite toy. I find that they do not know how to treasure their toys especially what they want, they can get from their grandparents. I have to educate them in this concern.

Awww...so cute. It's good that she understands that her 'friends' should stay at home. My girl doesn't have a particular fav soft toy. She gets bored with them easily. :P

In a way, I guess it's better not to be attached to a single toy. Just in case that particular toy goes missing.... then die la!!

It is good that Sharlene is attached to her soft toys... good for her imagination and promotes pretend play. Ryan has no attachment to any toys... just his pao-pei!!!
