Two weeks ago hubby’s aunty from Hong Kong went to Cameron Highland and she bought us some pearl sweet corn from there. The pearl sweet corn was so much bigger than the ordinary sweet corns. The wet market in my area sells this as well and the vendor said that we could actually eat it raw and it taste very sweet and juicy.
The sweet corn was as sweet as honey even after boiling it. And if you look at the pix carefully, it looks slightly different from the normal sweet corn. Sharlene and I like to eat sweet corn and we simply couldn’t resist those super sweet, crunchy and juicy pearl sweet corns. Try one today and I'm sure you love it!

Yeah..I also didn't know about the sweet pearl corns until we went to Cameron Highlands in May, colleague told me that it could be eaten RAW. My..my...first time tried and it was so juicy and sweet. Now I know...
Ya, it's very sweet & nice to eat. It's quite difficult to find this type of sweet corns at my place nowadays. And the price would be a little bit more than the normal ones!
Tried this once - raw and you are right, it's sweet.
wow...eye opener for me...didnt know corns can be so interesting..ha
How to differenciate pearl sweet corn n the normal 1? izzit with lighter yellow colour? Only cameron sells pearl sweet corn? where else i can buy it?
little prince's mummy - you can get this type of corn ('chen chu pau shok' in cantonese) at most of the wet markets. It's bigger than the normal ones and cost around RM2.50 each. Once you remove the husk, you will notice some of the corn kernels are white in color. I've not seen it at supermarket though. Anyway, hope you can find it at your market.
the sweet corns look so yummy!!
